Chingy est un rappeur originaire de St-Louis, tout comme son acolyte Nelly qui l'a fortement influence. Nelly a d'ailleurs aide Chingy a se lancer et se faire connaitre du grand public en le faisant participer a sa tournee en 2002. Jackpot, son premier album sort en septembre 2003, arborant ses textes legers et relayant les fantasmes du rappeur... Son single Right Thurr a veritablement propulse Chingy au sommet des charts, d'abord aux Etats-Unis, puis en Europe. Le rappeur revient en novembre 2004 avec Powerballin'.
